We are seeking a brewer at our Portland brewery to operate our brewhouse, cellar, and soda equipment on rotating shifts (day and swing), to execute a weekly brewing schedule and perform certain quality control tests on the product at various stages of brewing. The brewer will operate our brewhouse, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, hop additions, whirlpool, and wort cooling, perform beer transfers and filtration and brew soda, including mixing and carbonation. In addition, this position is responsible for pre- and post cleaning and sanitation of all transfer lines and vessels.
Our ideal candidate will have at least one year hands on brewing experience in a regional brewery or at least one year formal training, an advanced understanding of brewing science, organizational skills, communication skills, safe chemical handling and able to drive a forklift. Also, the candidate should have mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machinery and systems.
