Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, implementing and executing consistent methods and supporting mechanisms for beverage packaging quality based on industry standard methods, personal knowledge, and personal experience. The applicant will have ownership for packaging process quality and packaging materials quality methods, data collection, data analysis, and appropriate action plans.

Duties:
• Manage quality assurance for packaging process and packaging materials including supplier relationships and expectations from a quality perspective.
• Develop and implement methods for assigned areas including all supporting mechanisms (e.g., SOPs, training documentation/aids, tools, equipment, logs, databases, control charts, etc.)
• Periodically evaluate methods and supporting mechanisms from all stakeholders’ points of view and make improvements
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve control charts and Out-of-Control (OOC) action plans to validate results for all assigned measurements
• Provide support for analysis and root cause corrective action for OOC conditions on assigned measurements
• Periodically evaluate the data from assigned measurements to determine product/process/supplier capability and long-term trends and report information, as appropriate
• Understand all equipment and tools required for assigned methods and ensure appropriate calibration and preventive maintenance schedules are defined and executed
• Develop and deliver training content and delivery approach for assigned methods
• Participate as team member and/or team leader for projects and focused improvement efforts, as assigned
• Demonstrate role model behavior with respect to NBB Core Values in day-to-day activities and in pursuit of Quality department and personal goals and objectives
• May provide leadership to lesser experienced Quality Assurance Technicians and/or Analysts

Skills and attributes necessary for this position:
• Appropriate working knowledge of packaging process quality and packaging materials supplier quality
• Demonstrated hands-on packaging process quality and supplier quality experience
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations and write reports, business correspondence, and technical process documentation
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel within the organization and within suppliers organization, including presenting information and responding to questions from various individuals and groups or managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to plan own work and the work of others and lead work groups or teams, when needed
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
• Ability to exercise initiative and judgment as well as make decisions within the scope of assigned authority
• Ability to effectively delegate to others when and where needed
• Demonstrated ability and desire to obtain additional skills and knowledge in area of expertise (e.g., continued education, special training, certification)
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or the equivalent in special training and work related experience

Skills desired, but not necessary:
• Strong statistical and analytical thinking skills - Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt desirable
• Expert knowledge of packaging and packaging materials for the brewing industry
• Desire a Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in special training and work related experience with a minimum of five (5) years of on-the-job experience

This is a full-time hourly position, 40+ hrs a week. Starting pay will be commensurate with experience.
