My name is John Lane and I'm from Tennessee. Currently I'm taking the Certified Brewmaster's Course at Versuchs-und Lehranstalt fur Brauerei (VLB). The course started in January of 2008 and will be finished this june. In order to receive our diploma each student must do an internship in a brewery for at least 3 months. The majority of the students have already done this because they have been sent to the VLB by breweries they work for. I have never worked in a real brewery along with three other people in class. That does not mean I don't have any experience though. I have homebrewed in Tennessee for over 10 years and love the craft. My plans after school are to hopefully do the intership at a place I would like to work and then work there for at least 5 years. I would also like to work at other breweries to get experience using different technics then someday in the distant future, take back my knowledge to Tennessee and open a brewpub. I have been talking with a few breweries, but I would like to have more options. I am a hard worker, have a very good work record, and I'm single, so I am able to move around.
