We are seeking a brewer at our Berkeley brewery to operate our brewhouse, cellar, and soda equipment on rotating shifts (day and swing), to execute a weekly brewing schedule and perform certain quality control tests on the product at various stages of brewing. The brewer will operate our four-vessel computer controlled brewhouse, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, hop additions, whirlpool, and wort cooling, perform beer transfers and filtration and brew soda, including mixing and carbonation. In addition, this position is responsible for pre- and post cleaning and sanitation of all transfer lines and ferment vessels using computer controlled cleaning system.
Our ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of brewing science, organizational skills, communication skills, safe chemical handling and able to drive a forklift. Also, the candidate should have a mechanical aptitude with a knowledge of machinery and systems.
