I'm looking to obtain some bungs for my 1/4 Bbl HS kegs (old Pabst type). Unfortunately, I can only locate them through Atlas Dowel and the minimum order is for 500. I only have 3 of these kegs, so that order would last me for decades. Does anyone have about 25-50 or so they could part with? I figure someone might in the same boat as me and would be willing to part with some. They are 1 27/32" I believe. Thanks.

Cheers,

Todd

Try brewers supply group (www.brewerssupplygroup.com). I get my hoff bungs from them and they have no minimum order.

got mine from sabco, smaller amount (40 maybe?) I think they now have a link to their supplier www.atlasdowel.com/bungs.htm

Sabco referenced Atlas to me and Atlas refused an order smaller than 500. That was about two weeks ago. I will check with Brewers Supply today, but the 1/4 Bbl keg bung holes are slightly smaller than my standard 1/2 Bbl kegs. Thanks for the heads up though.

BSG has them. They are just a different size.

Just in case there is confusion, Pabst had smaller bung hole made on their kegs both in qtrs and halves. Some Pabst were the normal size as well. I believe it was Sabco that told me some wiseguy at Pabst figured no other brewer would pirate their kegs with the odd bug size.
You could always buy 500 and offer to sell small lots to other brewers in the same boat.

I have pabst kegs. BSG sells two sizes. The smaller ones fit pabst and the larger fit the others.

Since on the subject of bungs I am wondering if anyone else out there is cutting their own? Or, does someone know of anyone I could contact on the subject? I would like to break out of this issue of buying bungs and cut my own out of nice seasoned local birch and alder stock. I have searched high and low (mostly high) for a tapered bung cutter of the sizes needed to no avail. I posted this question a year or so ago and no one replied so I figured I'd put this out there again. If this is considered hi-jacking my apologies.:)
