We at Half Acre Beer Company are looking for a head brewer to become part of our team and take charge of our newly acquired brewhouse. We’re a young company in Chicago who’s experienced some positive growth utilizing the poor man’s process of developing recipes and appealing to friends with big shiny tanks to brew and package them. We will soon begin constructing our own mother-ship in the city.
Candidate should be eager to be part of a young organization rolling up its sleeves and diving into the muck. We’re looking for someone to be a driving force behind our brewery build-out, daily brewing operations, recipe wizardry and to contribute to our interesting and enjoyable company culture.
• Brewer should have the necessary practical experience in all aspects of the brewing process, including packaging.
• Brewer should be adventuresome, original and willing to work hard in order differentiate themselves in today’s brewing world.
• Brewer should enjoy his/her craft and be eager to share his/her knowledge with others.
This is a position for someone who likes the idea of being an integral part of a young organization figuring things out, and not deterred by risk. An entrepreneurial spirit will come in handy, and a desire to hunker down and commit some time will be important.
• An openness to new ideas and unconventional processes a must.
• Willingness to self direct and take ownership of all brewing operations is paramount.
• A proficiency in Table Tennis would be fantastic, but not required. We are willing to train.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Candidate should be motivated by the opportunity for personal and financial growth due to the success of his/her efforts. 401K and Dental plan not a reality today, but profit sharing and some time off is.
