This is a pre-purging device made to be set up on the infeed conveyor of a rotary filler such as a Crown Cork & Seal, Meyer or other. It purges 12 oz. long neck beer bottles from the bottom with CO2 or other inert gas. It has 10 inline purging tubes, a pneumatically operated cyliinder to raise and lower the purging bar, solenoid valve control, a bottle stop and release mechanism and a section of 3-1/4" conveyor. It was mounted on the infeed side of a Crown 40/10 Uniblend filler at a Western brewery. The filler it was mounted on was later sold to a soda bottler who does not need purging, so this unit has become an orphan. According to the builder it operated at up to 140 BPM on the Crown 40 filler. Bottle airs were reduced by 80-90% or better. It is suitable for rotary type fillers of up to 40 valves and operating at speeds of 100-125 BPM or more. Not recommended for Meheens since an infeed conveyor system is not generally utilized.
