Trap Filter

We are looking for a trap filter for post DE filtration. We expect to run 20-40BBls through our 3 m DE...

Any suggestions for type, micron, sources?

Hello Matt! Hope all is well with you! To help with your question, there are a few bits that will determine what you need. First, are you just trying to "trap" rouge DE after the filter? Depending on your DE particle size profile, you will likely need only a 5 micron filter to mop up any carryover. If, on the other hand, you are trying to polish, or even sterile filter, then you will require more surface area (and more expensive filters). Sterile filtration is most often done around 0.4 micron and some would argue that it strips character from the beer. Others argue against flavor changes. I'm in the first camp. I rough filter our beer and enjoy better head and lacing than I do when I use sterile filtration. Let me know what you might need; I have a line on some cheap filter housings. Cheers & good luck!

Things are going very well here at mayflower. We are now brewing 2 days a week and will be ordering 2-3 40s and a 40 bbt next week. N-ice!!!

We just want to trap any carry over, I am in agreement about sterile filtration. As we grow maybe that will maek sense but for now, our beers are consumed within 60days.

Shoot me some info.

Sweet, just opened and already expanding!

I had good luck using a 20" plastic filter housing with 5 micron spun poly cartridges. This was a home size filter housing and I fit with T/C. Cartridges came from Scott Labs.
