If your Perlicks leak, either the parts are mixed up with parts from another Perlick, or they need to be lubed. I would really doubt that they should ever need to be lapped.
The barrel part is machined to match with exactly with the body. Often they are etched with matching numbers. They do need to be lubed with Vaseline or a food grade grease. They will not seal correctly without the lube.

Unless they are scored, like everyone I got from a used system. They can be bought directly from perlick and are reasonable. I like the new design too.

the machined surfaces have some serious scratches on them.
how they got there i don't know..probably last guy didn't lube them.
i have took them apart, cleaned, and lubed them but some still leak under pressure (5-18psi).
shame of it is i have 3 that leak; replacing is a small forture.
was just wondering if there was a easy $ solution out there.
thanks
i'll keep looking around

Try [url]www.ager-tank-equipment.com. Go to brewery equipment, mIsc. equipment, and then misc. fittings. He has 2 used for sale, I bought a couple last year, they work great, no leaks.
