Hi all,
We will soon receive a new float of our very own kegs, after five years of using Microstar. While our name will be embossed in the chime, I'm looing for ideas on painting them, banding them with tape, etc, to futher identify them. Can anyone share some methods that really work, and are low-maintenance?

Congrats on your new babies!
I have had some of mine silkscreened by the late Spartanburg keg company. They used an epoxy paint and they looked amazing. I had black stripes with name and logo reversed out of the black. That was 12 years ago and they have shown wear. Caustic gnaws away at the paint, and scrubbies damage the paint when on the hot cylcle on the keg washer. Still, the kegs are distinctive and worth the cost and effort.
I would love to see a nice Hawaiian print across the middle third of a Hawaiian brewerers' kegs.

I am not aware of how keg stickers hold up to exterior keg washers, but I really like the stickers we got through sabco. They were easy to apply and they were pretty inexpensive I believe. Depending on the design of the sticker they really stand out to.

I second the sabco keg stripes, ours are about 4 years old and have held up well.

We use a combination of a painted band (good quality spray paint), to make the kegs more recognizable from a distance, and a full wrap sticker with our logo, address and govt warning sticker. We got the banding tape from Triad Products in NE. You can find them on the web at http://www.triadproducts.net/ put be sure to call to discuss pricing. The prices on their web site are always considerably inflated from reality. We've only used these stickers for about 9 months so I can't attest to their long term durability.

May I suggest an idea I've had but not been able to implement. ( we only have a few kegs so the cost per keg is a little high.) I get the U-line catalog and you can order custom logo imprinted packing tape. My idea is to have our brewery logo printed on the tape (it is repeated every 6 to 8 inches) and then just wrap the keg with the tape. If you have enough kegs this is very cheap and can be re-wrapped when tape gets damaged or old. Two colors on thicker tape runs about $75 to $150(mostly screen print charges) per case (70 rolls). Just check their catalog (or similar company)

We use what appear to be bumper stickers and I hate them. Some hold up okay but many get torn and then you have to spend a lot of time removing the backing and the glue. I'm sure they are less than $0.15 apiece but still not worth it.

I had Uline make me custom vinyl stickers when I was at AleWerks. They hold up pretty well and can be scraped and reapplied.

Anyone use industrial floor tape to band/brand their kegs?
Here is a link to one supplier, price seems right and its supposed to stand up to foot traffic chemicals and up to 170 f.
