Hi folks, after 91 views & no replies - I thought I'd change my message title & see if that brought any better response? So . . .

we're just about to start putting all the bits of the jigsaw back together on our "Mercedes with a few miles on the clock" 15USBbl DME brewplant

After coming to Manchester (UK) from Canada, it was fairly soon moved again to just outside London, where some mods were made (the lauter rakes were removed & the steam supply to the lauter tun floor was removed).

Until fellow PB-er Beertje46 explained, we were a bit confused about this part of the plant - it's a RIMS system (I've never seen this on a commercial brewplant before).

Anyway, any relevant comments, advice, specs, contacts, etc, etc will be much appreciated (along with pints on this side of the pond).

We've emailed DME & their UK agents, but *still* no word back yet.

cheers

Just call them:+902-628-6900 and talk to Nancy Hayward, Customer Service Representative. Were you able to locate the serial numbers on the DME tag?

Hi David,
I've not written down the serial no.s, but I will do (I'm sure they're there - everything has DME plates on it)

I'm currently juggling too many plates :) - cuckoo brewing & bottling my own beer, locum brewing for someone else, selling at 2 farmers' markets tomorrow, plus trying to set the new business up - all a bit too much at the moment, but this one should be top of my list.

I'll give Nancy at DME a ring on Monday - must remember the time difference :)
cheers again,
Mike.

Have you found out more about this system? I've been curious about using a HERMS type of design in a commercial system.

Same here. Was thinking about adding to our brewhouse for step mashing just never seen on commercial system.

BTW, Nancy & DME team are terrific to work with - I'm sure you'll get the help you need from them.

Good luck.

David

Hi David & Engel,
I'm still waiting to hear back from DME - I had a good conversation with MD Peter Toombs a few weeks ago & he said he'd get Nancy to try to hunt out the info, but nothing yet.

We've got good steam, elec. & brew-engineers on-site, but some specs would still really help!

The steam supply & rakes on the mash-system were removed, so it'll be interesting to see if we can get it all working together & then how easy it is to brew on :)

We have a few reasons as to why we don't want to just go for simple infusion mash, so here's hoping we can do it.

I'll keep you posted how we get on,
cheers
