Does anyone have a soft copy of how they have laid out there brewery? Blueprints, drawings, etc... If so, I'd be very appreciative if you would share them with me. Also, if you could do it again. What changes would you make to increase the overall efficiencey of your operation?
I'm looking into a 10 - 20bbl systems and I am curious as to how much sq. ft. I should be looking to rent and what layout considerations I should be aware of when scouting locations. Not just for the brewery but for the fermentors, lab, grain room, etc...
Anything you have would be great.
Thanks,
Rick

You need to give more info on your purpose. If it is a brewpub or micro? That will make it easier for people to give quality feedback. But either way it will depend on a lot of variables. Location, amount of customers, type of beer produced. This could go on and on. Lets' just say at least 10,000 sq. ft. as a starting point.

Great point...
I'm looking to start a micro with a max production of around 5K BBL per year. I am just gathering some generally facts at this point, as I still have a lot of research to do, but was interested in learing more about how others have laid out (set-up) their brewery operations and why things are laid out the way they are. I would think similiar principles are in place regardless of production size. (to a point)

Check out Soundbrews (http://www.soundbrew.com) homepage, look under "Tech Info" - they are recommending 1.25-1.75 sq. ft. per barrel per year. Lots of other good info there also.

Soundbrew has great info, thanks for reference to that source. I had stumbled upon it before through my Google searchs and have been using it as an information resource for my business case. Sounds like I need to be looking for building in the 8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft range.
I am still on the hunt for more information relating to the logistics of how to best setup the space. I am trying to determine what the pros and cons are of different equipment configurations so that I can look at spaces with these considerations in mind.
Thanks for the help and keep the suggestions coming, much apperciated.
