With recent acquisitions of H20 wells from decommisioned
military base,, levels of Iron and Manganese have increase
in the incoming H20. Test batches with new water taste like
A**, Iron and manganese levels are as follow: Iron@263ug/l
66-70.5ug/l, groung water average @7.7.
Anyone have levels close to these? All other parameters are
same for inorganics and organics except for the above posted.
reply if you have similar Iron/manganese levels.

Grab your Grainger catalouge and order a water filter............

Same water here. My Fe and Mn are in a bicarbonate form. First go into a tank with as much aeration as possible.. Have enough residence time for the iron to coagulate and settle. This may be a few days, you'll have to experiment. Draw off above sediment. I follow with an iron filter that is recharged by backflowing water(-not salt.) There are a few different media for this-check your local water treatment people as I'm sure other of thier customers have similiar water. You do not want to use a softener. I previously used an ozone system and found it effective, yet haven't gotten one set up at the new brewery yet.
