Hi all,

I anticipate having a very warm brewery, especially if I'm required to keep all doors closed when I'm brewing. I have a bit of extra capacity on my glycol system, so I was thinking of rigging together a copper contraption (condenser?) with a fan, and just running glycol through the condenser, and air flow through the condenser. As you can tell, I know almost nothing about HVAC, but I'm just thinking of an easy way to provide a bit of cooling to a very small area. I'd just run it when I'm brewing.

What do you think? Does anyone make anything like this?

If you are interested in a quote on a coil designed for this purpose, please send me the room dimensions (LWH) and I would be happy to send over a quote.

Thanks

Jim

There are certainly units designed for just this use - we have no AC in any of our offices (it just doesn't get that hot here in Juneau), but we had to cool our landlocked conference room, which just happens to be 5 feet from some glycol lines.

So yeah, Pro Refrigeration or any industrial refrigeration company with knowledge of glycol systems should be able to help. They would also be able to review the loads on the system to make sure you wouldn't be overloading anything.
