In researching labeling requirements for my new brewery, I called the TTB about the Statement of Process. The specialist told me that there's a new form, just posted to their website this week, to use for submitting a Statement of Process. Apparently they used to tell you to just type it up on your letterhead.

The new form is 5100.51, here's a link to the PDF file:

In a related question, can anyone tell me how long of a turnaround time they've experienced with a SoP? For a spiced holiday ale, I'm looking at the SoP, then the COLA, then the PLCB brand registration. I'm wondering if there's enough time...

I think it only took 21 days with the online cola, and if you need to make corrections you can and don't have to wait for the mail to go back and forth like the papper app.

Thanks, yeah I sent in the form to register for the COLA online system, they say it takes 30 days for that. So I don't know if it'll happen in time to avoid sending in the paper COLA.

I hate paperwork.

Has anyone submitted a SoP recently? If so, what kind of turn-around time did you experience?

I sent a SOP in a couple of weeks ago and had a turn-around of less than a week. Pretty painless.
