Dry Yeast expiration date

I have a package of dry yeast that is 6 months past the expiration date. Will it still work? Should I even take a chance?

The thing about expiration dates is that if they didn't put them on, they would sell much less product!

Actually rigorous tests are performed by dry yeast manufacturers to ensure that yeast quality (viability and vitality) remains until the expiry date. Past that date, manufacturers cannot assure that the product will perform accordingly and certainly they cannot be held responsible if a problem occurs. Knowing this, nothing is stopping you to try the yeast and see for yourself if it still performs. Good luck :) !
