Does anyone know the EDR of a typical BOP kettle? Mine are 24gal total capacity with full wall and bottom jacket.

Equivalent Direct Radiation (EDR).By definition, that amount of heating surface (square feet) which will give off 240 Btu per hour when filled with steam at 215F and surrounded by air at 70F. (Equivalent square foot of heating surface may have no direct relation to the actual surface area.

One of those ratios boiler guys think about. Has some neat multiples associated with it.

To estimate EDR, take pounds of steam (or condensate) per hour and divide by 4 (four).
