The Beer Institute published their estimate of domestic tax paid beer shipments by brewers for July 2023 which showed a 8.4% decline versus the same month last year. Domestic shipments are now down 6.8% for the year through July compared to last year.
The July 2023 estimate was 12,800,000 barrels, compared to 13,968,083 barrels last July.
It wasn’t the worst month of the year, but only one month so far in 2023 has showed growth over 2022. February was up 1%, and all other months have been down. The biggest decline came in May when beer shipments were down 12.2%
