In another shakeup of the Anheuser-Busch distribution network in Ohio, Columbus & Delmar Distributing has announced that it will purchase family-owned The House of LaRose, another AB wholesaler in the state. The announcement comes just a week after AB announced it was closing its brewery-owned distribution business in the Canton area and transitioning the brands to The Columbus Distributing Co.
Columbus & Delmar and the House of LaRose carry a complimentary craft profile which will enable a smooth transition for the brands.
House of LaRose serves much of Northeast Ohio while Columbus & Delmar Distributing covers Central Ohio. According to a press release, the combined company will continue to use The House of LaRose name in the Northeast Ohio region. There company said there would not be any layoffs due to the acquisition.
Both companies date back to the 1930’s when they were founded after the repeal of Prohibition.
