Collectively, member countries of the European Union (EU) produced 32.5 billion liters of beer in 2023, a decline of 5% versus 2022. The one bright spot was low-alcohol and no alcohol beer production which was up 13.5% over 2022.
Germany was the top EU producing country with 7.2 billion liters of beer, which was around a quarter (22.3%) of the total EU production.
The Netherlands continues to be the top exporter of beer last year with a total of 1.8 billion liters of beer being exported.
