News Sales of Non-Alcohol Beer Sour in UK

Soaring growth in non-alcohol beer  sales is not unique to the US market. New data shows that NA beer sales in the UK doubled last year. The UK is now the eighth largest market across the world for NA beer, jumping from the 13th position in 2022.

Total sales of NA beer increased from 650,000 hectoliters in 2023 to almost 1.3 million last year.

Some of the popularity can be attributed to the taxation reform in August 2023, where 3.5% ABV and under beers were taxed less than beers above this ABV.

In addition, the British Beer and Pub Association said that 87% of the pubs in the UK served at least one low- or no-alcohol beer. Although the majority of these are still in bottles and cans, the number of low- and no-alcohol beers served on draught has quadrupled since 2019, according to an article in The Just Drinks.
